Top Dogs Tip #4

Oodles require regular grooming of their coat to prevent extreme matting. Plan on doing a lot of the maintenance of your oodles coat yourself? It is important to get your pup used to the idea of sitting still for long periods of time to allow you to effectively groom their coat. This is achieved by having your new pup sit still and calm while you touch their face, ears, tail and paws. Once your pup can do that move onto brushing them regularly and teaching them not to bite at the brush. As your pup becomes more calm and confident with grooming introduce the scissors, trimming around their paws and beard to keep them neat and tidy. If you are planning on shaving them yourself also it is important to get your pup used to the sound before attempting to use clippers on them.
